Airtasker, a leading online marketplace connecting people who need tasks done with skilled Taskers ready to help, today announced its official launch in New York City. To celebrate, new customers who sign up during the launch period — June 23 through July 12 — will receive a $100 Airtasker voucher toward their first task.
Unlike traditional service platforms that assign workers or cap users to predefined categories, Airtasker operates as an open marketplace — customers post what they need, name their budget, and receive offers from rated and reviewed Taskers. The person hiring decides who they work with and how the job gets done. In a city where costs are on the rise, transparency matters.
New Yorkers are already putting Airtasker’s marketplace to work. During the Knicks championship parade, the platform became a go-to resource for fans looking to secure a spot, with more than 50 Knicks-related tasks posted in the U.S. within 24 hours, including a $750 listing for an eight-hour spot-hold along the Canyon of Heroes route.
Since the start of its December 2025 pilot program, Airtasker’s New York data shows strong demand for the platform, with posted tasks up 219%, weekly task volume growing sixfold in under six months, and New York user signups up 606% month-over-month.
Goldman Sachs Research found that gig platform activity increases most in cities where traditional payroll growth slows, and New York fits that profile. With median rents hitting $4,950 per month in January 2026 and the city adding virtually no net jobs in 2025, Airtasker arrives not as a convenience play, but as a practical answer to a city where time is expensive and the traditional economy is leaving gaps.
“New York is one of the most demanding cities in the world — and a perfect fit for us,” said Tim Fung, Founder and CEO of Airtasker. “It’s expensive to live and work here, which is why New Yorkers understand the value of getting help with things to save valuable time. Whether it’s carrying furniture up a walk-up or trying to lock in a last-minute dinner reservation, Airtasker gives New Yorkers a faster, more flexible way to get things done.”
This momentum reflects something larger. With over 10 million registered users across the U.S., UK, and Australia, and more than 5.6 million tasks completed globally, Airtasker enters New York with proven marketplace infrastructure and a growing U.S. community.
“Airtasker is built for cities like New York, where time is the scarcest resource,” Fung added. “The $100 launch voucher is our way of giving New Yorkers their time back — while putting real money into the hands of the people doing the work.”
New customers can sign up at airtasker.com and claim their $100 launch voucher through July 12. To learn more, visit the New York Launch page.
