FAIRFAX, VA – October 22, 2026 – PRESSADVANTAGE –
USA Cabinet Store’s Fairfax showroom is applying the latest national bathroom design findings through its established six-step remodeling process as industry labor conditions tighten. The approach settles vanity, storage and layout decisions early so that work proceeds against a confirmed plan.
The 2026 U.S. Houzz Bathroom Trends Study, published Sept. 30, 2026, surveyed 1,619 U.S. homeowners about recent or planned renovations. It found that 21 percent chose vanities wider than 72 inches, up seven points, while 64 percent installed double sinks, up from 47 percent. The study also reported that 32 percent added built-in electrical outlets, up seven points, and 25 percent added drawer organizers. Fifteen percent cited insufficient storage as a reason to renovate, and 89 percent hired at least one professional.

Market conditions frame these choices. The NAHB/Westlake Royal Remodeling Market Index for the third quarter of 2026, released Oct. 8, 2026, rose one point to 62, with current conditions at 70 and future indicators at 54. NAHB Chief Economist Robert Dietz said labor shortages, including competition from data center construction, are lengthening project timelines.
USA Cabinet Store addresses these realities at the front of its remodeling process. The first step, a free consultation, evaluates the existing bathroom. The second step, a 3D and virtual reality design meeting, then settles vanity width, single or double sink configuration, storage and shower layout before any trades are scheduled. This sequence connects directly to the shifts the Houzz study identified, since wider vanities, second sinks and in-vanity outlets each change plumbing and electrical requirements.
“Vanity width, a second sink and in-vanity outlets are not finishing touches, they are decisions that shape the plumbing and electrical plan,” said Emin Halac, CEO of USA Cabinet Store. “Fixing those details in the design meeting means the plan is confirmed before anyone picks up a tool, which matters more when skilled labor is harder to schedule.” Homeowners exploring bathroom remodel ideas can review vanities offered in custom, semi-custom and stock lines, along with curbless walk-in showers.
The third step, final measurements and planning, confirms supply and drain locations for a second sink and electrical runs for in-vanity outlets before materials are ordered. In a typical case, replacing a 60-inch single vanity with a wider double vanity within the existing wall requires those rough-in points to be verified in advance. The remaining steps cover demolition and preparation, construction and installation, and a final walkthrough.
According to the company’s bathroom remodeling process page, most remodels take four to eight weeks, a simple vanity and fixture update takes two to three weeks, and a full renovation with layout changes takes six to eight weeks. These are company estimates that vary with project complexity, permitting and material availability.
Founded in 2011, USA Cabinet Store operates a network of 13 showrooms across Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Texas, New Jersey, Florida and Tennessee, serving more than 1,000 customers. The company was listed among the NKBA 2026 Innovative Showroom Award winners in the Kitchen and Bath Design Centers category at KBIS 2026, and has earned Best of Houzz Service awards in 10 separate years since 2016.
